This project focused on designing, building, and documenting a personalized chair inspired by the Art Deco style of the 1920s. The resulting 'DecoMetric' armchair is a contemporary interpretation of Art Deco's geometric elements, featuring a bold birch wood backrest with a unique diamond pattern, complemented by brushed gold legs for a sleek modern touch. The documentation process involved a detailed 3-5 minute video showcasing the design and building stages, which highlighted the intricate process of creating the chair, particularly the challenges faced in achieving the geometric backing using biscuit jointing. The upholstery design echoes the chair's geometric aesthetics, while the bluish-gray tone contrasts elegantly with the gold legs, making it a versatile piece for various spaces, from living rooms to dining areas or offices.
